  • Victory in Defeat | A Walking New Man

The struggle of the flesh in us is different with individuals, but the agony of defeat is the same. Without the defeat of our will, there can be no victory. Miscellaneous Writings Victory in Defeat The reap of success in failure. Share The fulfillment of the Christian’s desire by Grace. With almost half of the world population as Christians, or more, for we know not all, saved God alone, he knows the heart. To those who truly understand what it is to be a Christian, they will live their lives as a believer. This is the core of their fellowship with God because they believe, and nothing will ever change that. The called of the Christian, or the pathway of the fellowship with God, is that of seeing what we didn’t see before. Understanding that which was once the unknown, through this, a life is changed. This is the born-again experience. Seeing clearly, and to understand, this is progressive, meaning we continue to see clearly, with a better understanding. When we see, but no longer continue to see more clearly. Or we once understood, but no longer continue to understand. This is the stage of stagnation, but the Christian’s life should be the progression of understanding and truth. There are many who believe, yet they live a life of struggle. The absent of rest in their lives, through emotional agitation, fear, and the doing of that which we don’t want to do, yet we find ourselves failing in an attempt to do the right thing. The mind is willing, but the will to do that which is right is absent. Considering God is the giver of Salvation, shall we not expect Him to work in us that which is good through the process of Sanctification ? We couldn’t save ourselves, how can we make ourselves whole through Sanctification? Though not all believers are familiar with the term above, but the problem is the same among many. The desire for a victory, ends with a defeat. The plan for success turns into failure. The beginning of the answer of the discussion, is thus summed up in the passage of the Scriptures, found in Romans 12:1 , “a living sacrifice.” A strange terminology, for how can a sacrifice be alive? A closer study of the phrase will give the reader a better understanding. However, true understanding is when that which is understood is enacted. The idea of a living sacrifice is to surrender our will to the Lord. As a sacrifice , we give ourselves, our will power and our abilities, and the desire of the flesh. The flesh is the personal ability and the will of the individual. This in itself isn’t wrong, but our will must be made conformable to God's will. This is only done through the sacrifice of self, spiritually speaking. As an artist, my paintings and drawings were without a meaning because my paintings were based on my ability and will, but with Christ, the artworks are meaningful. Moreover, He has given me the words to express the meaning behind the works and the idea thereof. The struggle of the flesh in us is different with individuals, but the agony of defeat is the same. Without defeat, the defeat of our will, there can be no victory. Without the acknowledgment of failure on our part, there can be no success from above. Therefore, let us by faith submit our will to Christ, so that the Holy Spirit can work in us that which is good. Then can we say; my will is dead. It is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. His victory shall be shared with me, and my success shall be by His command. For what He has blessed, no man can curse. ____________________________________ 🎨PSW·3✒© #VictoriousLiving BACK

Psalms 91:14 14. Know the name (authority ) of God. 15. Call upon God in prayer. Psalms 91:15 Key words and phrases to understand Dwelleth – Psalms 91:1 He that dwelleth . . . The idea here is to sit down, as a judge would sit, but sit for a reason, to observe. The believer is not sitting in any place, but the secret place of the most High, this secret place represents the heart of God, His bosom. It is one thing to know a person from a glance, but it is an advantage to understand the heart’s desire of the person, in knowing what is special to them. In so doing, as believers, when we dwelleth, we sit down, let us sit to causatively settle, meaning our sitting is to produce an effect. The desire to understand the heart of God, or that which is dear to Him, and this we know, Christ is the only begotten of the Father. Our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, will determine how we dwell in the presence of God. In the Words of Christ, no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. Habitation (Psalms 91:9) - an abode, a place of asylum, a home. The phrase, home is where the heart is, goes a long way. No matter how far we travel, or what good of a place we’ve been. Nevertheless, there is always a desire to return home. Consequently, it is our duty to be at home, but at home in God. If there is a rejection of being at home, then it is the evidence of turmoil at home. If God is our habitation, like a good home, there we’ll desire to be. Therein, we talk with Him, and we are delighted to be with Him. When the outside world, has but all disorder and Chaos to throw at us during the day, we quietly, but eagerly look forward to be at home. So is the Christian’s habitation in God. In Him we shall be welcome, as a man or woman is welcome to their home, without any disturbance of the outside, there we find rest and peace in the Lord. In so doing, our habitation becomes our refuge. Refuge – Hope and the shelter of trust. There shall no evil befall thee – Psalms 91:10 The phrase is better translated, though trouble or affliction will come to you, yet there will be no real evil in it toward you. For whatsoever happens to you, God Almighty is aware, and He shall turn the bad into good, for a lesson of a testimony that you may keep trusting in Him. Like an athlete who exercise to build muscles, the ordeal is demanding at times with stress to the body, but not for the destruction of the athlete, rather the betterment of his or her well-being, to be the best. So, the trouble at times, is not for our destruction, but the betterment of our being. The apostle Peter once wrote, saying we are a peculiar people. The word peculiar, in its definition today is to be strange, odd or weird. However, in its meaning of intend when it was written, it gives the reader a picture of a circle. There in the circle is a dot, the dot represents the believer, and the circle is God. If anything reaches the dot within the circle, it must first go through the circle which is God. So then, if anything befalls us, it must first go through the love of God toward us. Though it be uncomfortable for a while in the beginning, but in the end, it will be a blessing and of no harm. If a pregnant woman who is only a human, but at all cost will protect her belly from anything that will be a harm to the baby therein. What more about God who is Almighty? He shall not allow any evil to befall you. If we make the LORD, which is our refuge, even the most High, His habitation; our dwelling. For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. For our decision to serve the Lord, we shall be the head and not the tail. Through fellowship, when we call on the Lord, He will listen and answer; Lord, help me hear and understand when you speak. In safety shall we dwell in the house of the Lord. ____________________________________ 🎨PSW·3✒© Prayers awalkingnewman.com Writings

  • A certain man and his people | awalkingnewman

We do not see all things at once, but we can trust the One who is able to provide all things we need. BACK A certain man and his people The persistence of doing the right thing without the prospect for a compensation, but the awareness of our own and others’ burdens. This is expressed through an illustration based in a third world country that is on a path to an industrialized nation. A certain man, with his wife and their sons, though they lived in poverty, but there were those who lived in abject poverty. Regardless of their lack of many things, yet, an assembly of people always gather together at the shack of this certain man. There they studied the Bible, prayed, worshiped and sang praises to the Lord. The certain man taught the people the importance of tithing. Though they had almost nothing to give, yet, occasionally, someone would give the equivalence of one United States penny. They worked in the fields, they worked in homes and off the streets, but for their abject poverty, they were compensated in the wages of food, instead of money. At the end of every Church service, when a penny was received, he would walk 3.4 hours to the nearest shopping center. There he will meet with the store clerk and give him the penny, or a few pennies and ask him to keep it for him. The clerk didn’t understand why, but he felt there was something different about this man, something positive of which he could not explain. He accepted his request, and this went on for about a year. It was now late December, with snow on the horizon. The certain man woke up earlier than usual before the Church service that morning and walked many hours to the shopping center. There he met with the store clerk, and he inquired of the deposited funds. The clerk reaches down and brought up a small box filled with cash, shaking it in his hands, he emptied the small amount on his desk and counted it. Looking at the certain man, he announced the amount of money therein, the equivalence of $10. With a smile on his face and a bounce in his step, he signaled to the clerk that he will be back later. That morning he preached from Galatians 6:9 to his Congregation. At the end of the service, he greeted them like always, but with a surprise news of taking them on a journey. The younger children with their parents, along with the teens and their parents, with the wife of the certain man and their two sons, they embark on the journey toward the shopping center. There they waited in line with the rest of the shoppers, until it was his turn to face the clerk. He smiled, and said, you are back! He nodded with a grin, pointing at his Church members; with my family, he said. The clerk added, quite a large family, he replied, yes, my family in the faith. The clerk asked him, what can I do for you today, more deposit? With a big smile he answered, withdraw. The clerk thought within himself, $10, is he serious? He once again brought up the little box of cash, with others still in line waiting their turn. The certain man explained briefly the origin of the cash from the people, through tithes, a penny at a time and the time frame of its accumulation. He then handed it back to the clerk, asking him to offer them a hot beverage. We do not have much, but we will share what the money has to offer. However, at least we can have something pleasant for a few hours before the Christmas. The cups (Styrofoam mugs) and straws will be given to the younger ones among us as a present to play with for the Christmas. This is how poor they were, but the smiles on their faces were radiant. However, virtually everyone else in the line, eyes were filled with tears. Many of those in line instantly offered them dinner at their homes, but for the number of their size it was almost impossible. The store clerk suggested, they could bring the meal later in his store when he closes. There they all can have dinner together. Though the shoppers return with meals, and other presents, but they could not stay due to the accumulation of the snow. The duty of a good Christian is not only in giving a penny or more, but doing that which is right. This was seen among the certain man and his people. As they waited outside the store for the meals, they went on helping the shoppers with the groceries and carts. Many of whom in return give them a portion of the contents of their shopping carts with cash. They had so much, the only problem was how to take all back with them to their respective homes. As the evening approaches, the store clerk stood outside with them. He could not take them in his car due to the weather condition, so he offered them to keep their gifts in his store, to pick it up the following day. While they talked, in the distance was a car, out came a big man in appearance. Without speaking, he hurriedly got what he wanted from the store, while returning to his car, his rush came to a halt. The sound of his acceleration grew louder, but his car stood still in the snow. Two of the people of the certain man, went out to give the big man helping hands. Slowly the tires of his car rolled out, and he drove away. In the distance, he stopped and returned to the two who had just helped him. As he later recorded, he reached out his hand as a sign of a thank you gesture, but to his surprise, the hands of his helpers were rather small. Looking closer, he realized these were women who have just helped him push his car through the snow. They did not wear clothes to magnify their beauty, for they couldn’t afford the cost, they dressed to keep warm through the weather. He did not know what to think, according to him, he drove home with this thought of their hospitality on his mind. Upon arriving home, he handed over the ham to his wife and told her he was switching cars to use his truck with a plow, to plow the roads, and he will be back. Now, back at the store, the certain man along with his people, took very few things from their many gifts and they were ready to trek home in the falling snow, then in the distance was a bright light coming toward the shopping center. It was the biggest car they have ever seen, out came a man, a big man. He walked toward them, revealing his face, he was the man they’ve helped minutes ago. Where are you going, he asked? Home, they replied. In this snow he added? Yes, we are, together, we will make it home. Then tomorrow we will return with others to pick up our gifts from the good store clerk, they answered. Looking over at the store clerk, he asked, you give them gifts? The clerk answered, not really, they’ve earned it themselves. Their discussion came down to the big man agreeing to take them home with all their gifts at once. For the first time, the next day, on Christmas morning they had more than they could ever imagine. They obeyed the word of God by giving their tithes, a penny at a time, though it was little, but God remembers them in their giving. We do not see all things at once, but we can trust the One who is able to provide all things we need. Has it not been for their giving through tithes, they wouldn’t have had a reason to trek to the shopping center and they wouldn’t have received all the good things in store for them. In the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 11 verse one, we read; Cast your bread upon the waters: for you shall find it after many days. The water represents this world, and our interactions with those we meet in this life and our day to day decisions. Whatever we do, may we give it our all, and do our best. The way we talk to others, the help we give in times of need and doing that which is right according to the will of God. At times, the good things we do may seem futile, but let us continue to do that which is good. If not, let us learn to do that which is right, regardless of how we feel. This is the representation of casting our bread upon the water, which would seem wasteful if we consume it not. F. B. Meyer wrote concerning this; The casting of bread upon the waters is an allusion to the oriental custom of casting rice-grains on the fields, when they lie submerged beneath the annual inundation of such a river as the Nile. To the inexperienced eye, this would seem as a waste, but the farmer knows full well that he will meet his seed again, but with abundant returns. So it is in life, the good we do at times may seem exhausting and pointless, but let us continue. Regardless of how much we give, or contribute, or do. Little is much, when God is the focus . . . Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9) Billy Graham once said, God has given us two hands, one to receive with and the other to give with. The benefit of tithing is not for the giver to be counted as a provider, but the seen and unseen difference we make by doing the right thing. Try Me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. • Typology | Awalkingnewman.com

Miscellaneous Writings Typology The study of Types in the Bible, or the study of typology is a metaphoric representation of a thing, idea, an entity or a person. Where with, a word or phrase is applied to it by giving it the quality of that word or phrase. In this case of interest, the subject is the Holy Spirit. The word being applied to the Holy Spirit is an oil. Thereby giving the Holy Spirit some quality of an oil, through a metaphoric representation. In this study, we will look at the commonality of the Holy Spirit , an oil , a lamp and the believing Christian . Oil in the Scripture is a type representing the Holy Spirit. Oil in its uses when combine to a substance, it provides qualities of a great magnitude within the substance, which cannot be brought forth without the oil. Like a lamp, without an oil, though it is a lamp. Yet, it serves no purpose for its illumination. Likewise, unto us, as a believer without the Holy Spirit, though we are called a believer, but without the Holy Spirit we cannot fully serve our purpose as a lamp. However, the receiving of the Holy Spirit or being filled with the Holy Spirit is not merely a goal, but a way of life as well. For what is a lamp that is filled with an oil, but the oil is never used to burn for illumination? We clearly see the picture of this illustration in the study of the Temple of old. Wherein there was a Lamp stand that provided illumination in order to fulfill the duties of the Temple. This Lamp had to be refilled constantly because it truly illuminates. Therefore, a new, impartation, of oil was needed on a daily basis. Likewise, the believer who constantly seeks the Holy Spirit, is serving as an illumination to this world, consequently the Oil is burning and the Light is illuminating. They shall desire to be filled regularly, and they shall be fill constantly. On the contrary, there are those who once received the oil of the Holy Spirit, illustratively speaking, but they do not desire a new impartation because the oil of the Holy Spirit that is within them is not burning. Therefore, they seek not the Holy Spirit, for there isn't a light. Though we in ourselves are not the light, Christ is the Light, nevertheless the desire for the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer shall burn as an illumination. Where there is light, there is clarity, the absence of trouble and confusion. Light brings understanding, thereby eliminating the fear of the unknown. Such elimination brings peace and comfort, with peace there are prosperity and growth. Growth ushers in an increase, with the increase come blessing. These are few of the many benefits of the illumination of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, let us desire to experience the glory and the joy of the Holy Spirit from God our Father, made possible by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Let us serve as a light of God, then He shall replenish us daily and meet all our needs that we may continue to shine, and be a light. I n conclusion, we say Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: (Matthew 7:7) _________________ ___________________ 🎨PSW·3✒© The Five Offerings of Leviticus Share Miscellaneous Writings BACK
