- Time travelIn General discussionsJanuary 12, 2019Is Time Travel real? The possibility of an answer to such question is primarily based on the source of the definition. In other words, it depends on who's answering the question. Time is unique, it can be experienced from multiple perceptions. As a noun, time is a place, the past, present and the future. As a verb, time is a measurement; you can't see it, but its effects are felt. In order to fully experience time, it must be experienced as a noun and a verb. (As stated above) Meaning, we are in the present, and through the measuring of time as a verb, we will eventually experience the future. When the future is the present, time automatically creates a past. This is a progression we progress with, based on time. So, in essence, we travel through time, or we Time Travel. In addition, with the human brain that which we experienced, the mind can revisit the past while being in the present. The mind can also get a glimpse of what the future holds, while still in the present. The degree of clarity is limited for the lack of use of the human brain to its full God’s given ability. The expectation of the use of the human brain is only 10 percent out of 100 in its fullness. For the majority, only 5 percent of the brain in its mental capacity is used. 90 to 95 percent of the human brain is unutilized, imagine if only 50 percent was used. However, for others, their expectation or perceptions of Time Travel consist of the body as a whole being transported to another time frame, the past, or the present. Nevertheless, if “Time Travel” from this perspective is possible, it is not in the ability of human beings who are only using less than 10 percent of the mental capacity of the brain, to make it happen. Imagine an Artist, with a blank sheet of paper and a pencil, thereon He draws a horizontal line across the paper from left to right. The line represents time, within that line is humanity. The Artist represents God, He is the Creator of time. Therefore, He is not limited by time, He sees it all at once. However, we are within the limit of “the line of time.” We cannot see beyond time, nor experience any further from what we perceive before us, unless through the Intervention of the Author of the line. Can modern man reach out to the Author of the line of time, to experience beyond his perception? Knowledge comes with the desire to learn, the hope of that which is not yet present, but the desire to obtain through the revelation of the mine. This is God’s definition of Faith, to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see. However, modern man contrives the opposite, if I cannot see it, I will not believe it, said modern man. Consequently, in spite of technological advancements, the driving force of man, which is the soul and spirit is deprived and limited in his unbelief for the unseen. Must a baby understand all the dynamics of a family, provision and protection before it trust its parents? No, it trusts its parents to receive the needed substance of life as a means of growth, so it grows into an adult. On the contrary, the modern man, faithless idea of “sees before I believe” has caused a stunt to the soul and spirit which are the driving force of who we are. Therefore, society as we know it, will never experience the fullness of many things which are possible. But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6) The Bible does not oppose Science. True Science is the search for the truth, but when Science is erected as a religion to oppose the Bible, then the search of the truth has turned into a platform to attack the God of Truth, due to a rebellious mind-set with a degree of understanding kindle with pride. These topics and others are found in the scriptures to a degree. The problem is, for the majority of believers, they assume that Science opposes the Bible, so they oppose Science. Whereas, many in the Science community of today have erected Science as a religion. Therefore, instead of searching for the Truth, they oppress the Truth through vain big words, for the explanation of things, so their fellow man cannot understand, as a way to present themselves as wise. Mathematician, physicist, astronomer, Isaac Newton, once wrote, “There are more sure marks of authenticity in the Bible than in any profane history” Indeed, he was right. Let us note, the presence of the truth we seek and more, when they are seen in the Bible, it is not for a recreational purpose. Instead, it is for the benefit of all, to the glory of God. Can the human body physically disappear and travel within time and space, from one point to another instantly? Such was the Record of Philip the apostle, upon teaching an Ethiopian the Word of God and baptizing him. The Scripture recalls, Philip was instantly transported out of the water from their location, to Azotus, about 25 miles. Furthermore, we have the record of John the beloved, on the isle of Patmos. (Revelation 4:1) After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will show you things which must be hereafter. (future) Through this, John was able to see, feel and experience some events of the future. One may suggest, well, wasn’t it a vision? The word door used in the verse above, with its original meaning in the Greek language, it Implies more than a vision. The word is thura – meaning a portal. John looked and he saw, but what is modern man looking for? Not for God, but for self and the pleasing of an ever-growing ego. Today, men desire to travel to space and the planets, but for what cause? To be the first, how does it benefit the many? None, but said the modern man, I was the first. As humanity remains in the line of time, but they are trapped in the bonds of unbelief. Seeing they see, but they understand not. Hearing they hear, but they do not listen. Living they live, but without life for the lack of joy because they rejected the Truth. In the words of Galileo Galilei, the Astronomer, discoverer of the four massive moons of Jupiter and the father of modern physics, he wrote; I am inclined to think that the authority of Holy Scripture (Bible) is intended to convince men of those truths which are necessary for their salvation, which, being far above man's understanding, cannot be made credible by any learning, or any other means than revelation by the Holy Spirit. Gone are the days when men of Science recognize God as the source for their answers, therefore, they give to society tremendous contributions. Today, the Contribution of science and the wise is predicated upon “things,” rather than the soul and the spirit of man which lives forever. Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (1 Corinthians 2:9) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. (Romans 1:22)70
- New Year and the Old yearIn General discussionsDecember 9, 2018Nisan - March – April Lyyar or Lyar - April to May Sivan – May – June Tammuz – June – July Ab – July – august Elul – august – September Tishri – September – October Heshvan – October – November Kislev – November – December Tebeth – December – January Shebat - January – February Adar – February – march (Adar Sheni) As you perceive, they are not completely the same. The reason for the calendar was to establish the people in their understanding of their fellowship with God. Based on how, and when the people gathered together in the presence of the Lord. The calendar also served in the observance of the agricultural activities. However, everything was God centered. Their harvests were brought as offerings or tithes to the Lord. Through this, they established themselves, contributed to society and supported those in need who couldn't support themselves. God wasn't lacking any of these things they brought, or anything in general. Nevertheless, through this, He taught them a lesson to be dependent on Him, while being independent in the world as God's people. As Christians today, is it wrong to study the dates of old? No, however, in our understanding of the past, let us be aware that the past we briefly dealt with, it pointed to the future, which is our present, now. Therefore, may our study of the past be concluded with gratefulness for the present, which is Jesus Christ. Further illustration will be the recollection of a child’s early introduction to numbers and counting, through addition and subtraction. For many of us, we gathered bottle tops and other small items with us, to bring to our place of learning. With those things, we learned to count, adding and subtracting. Now, as an adult, we occasionally revert to such time frames, through reminiscing, but that which we were once taught, to count using physical objects, is now embedded in us. Therefore, we no longer use bottle tops or the likes to count, or withdraw from our banks or deposit. Likewise, the dates and feasts of old, we appreciate what it did for us in preparing us for what we now have, the revelation of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit.70
- PoliticsIn Posting questionsJuly 28, 2018Before politics, is government and the idea of a government, is an ordered society subject to law, without which there is anarchy. Although the question here is, should a Christian partake in politics? Before the question is answered, one ought to understand that politics is not a standalone entity, meaning without a government there cannot be politics. So, considering, a government is an order of society that is subject to law, consequently, yes, we all need government and politics. Although there are bad governments, but how shall they see the light if we are the light, but we are hidden? We are the salt of the earth, meaning we preserve society, by preventing it from rot and decay. The idea of a salt as a preservative, is when the substance of salt is used to preserve an element. In which the salt is applied by the hands, by rubbing through, with a physical contact with the element, or thing. The salt is rubbed over the surface until it penetrates the surface by entering into the element. Therewith, the chemical of the salt becomes one with the element and its compounds served as a preservative. So, considering the Christian is the salt of the earth, we cannot serve as a preservative unless we physically come in contact with society, through participation and interaction with society of which are government and politics. Furthermore, we are told to pray for those in government who bring forth politics. (1 Timothy 2:1-3) Praying for a political leader, doesn’t necessarily means your adoration for them. Although the heart shouldn’t conceal intense dislike or hatred for anyone. However, we pray for a leader that he or she will not act against the Word of God. Wherewith, the Gospel will be hindered or where the Christian is subject to an ill-treatment because of faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible is filled with the accounts of the influence of the believer in politics by the command of God. Though they did not seek to rule as political leaders, but they served as a light to darkness and a salt to preserve society and nations. Believers in politics Like Joseph, sold into slavery by his brothers and imprisoned by Egypt. There came a time, Joseph was in the position to freely choose to help the political system of Egypt, or choose not to help, and slowly watch their demise. Nevertheless, Joseph put the will of God over his personal feelings. He chose not to separate himself from the government of Egypt of that day. Instead, he let the Light of God shine through him, and he became a salt to their deterioration by working with them. They too received the blessings of God. Joseph didn't embrace segregation, and Joseph didn't face limitation. The slave boy became a great teacher and a leader. (Genesis 41:40-43) Moses, living his life as a father and a husband, he was called to face the greatest political system in opposition to their economy which was based upon slavery, and he did. Esther, her influence in a government system other than her own, led to the preservation of her people from total eradication. Today, Jews celebrate the day of Purim to commemorate Esther’s achievement in foreign politics. Although, there are times we ought to step away from politics when it present harm to the believer, which will in turn stop the Gospel from going forth. Such was Abraham’s nephew, Lot. He was warned by God through angels, to leave his city for what it has become. Nevertheless, the account of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah is almost only unique to Sodom and Gomorrah. Therefore, we ought to continue to be a light and a salt to this world. Another account of the believer in politics is found in the account of Jonah and the city of Nineveh. Most cities welcome the visitors with pleasantries through scenery and architecture accomplishment. However, the city of Nineveh at that time, welcome its visitors through the display of the pile of human skulls as a warning to visitors. If any speaks against their political system, their head will end up on the mountain of skulls. Yet, God sent Jonah to speak against them through warning . . . So, the people of Nineveh believed God and proclaimed a fast. (Jonah 3:5) In closing, we ask the question of the apostle Paul; For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?70
- PoliticsIn Posting questionsJuly 28, 2018First, all things must be carry-out by the will of God or it won't work. Secondly, the world perception of politics, shouldn't be the Christian approach to politics. For most in the world, politics is a path on which they gain power, fame and the control of others. If this is the desire of the Christian, then he or she is already on the wrong path. The life you live as a Christian, the right way. It will have a far more everlasting effect than many politicians combined. The person you talk to, if they see Christ in you, this could have a positive everlasting effect. They could go on and become a leader of some kind. The presence of God they saw in you will always be with them. Even if they are not a leader, they can share with someone what they’ve learned from you and that person can share with another, an ongoing effect. Imagine some of the greatest American Presidents, most of them had godly mothers, who had nothing to do with politics, but they taught their boys the importance of living the Christian life. The words of their mothers stuck with them. Mary Washington for an example, in her words to her son George Washington; Remember that God is our only trust. To Him, I commend you …. my son, neglect not the duty of secret prayers. Years later in Pennsylvania, Valley Forge, with the trail of bloody footprints in the snow, for the lack of proper equipment; General George Washington, watches his army slowly perish before his eyes. This was the beginning of the birth of the United States, as they faced the greatest army of their day, the fighting force of the British empire. He remembered the words of his mother to him. The General sought a quiet place, where he knelt and began to pray. History recalled, a residence walking by in the snow, heard the General praying and the moving words of his prayer. This individual, then relays what he witnessed to his wife, they and friends gather together to the aid of General Washington and his men. For that reason, the General and his army were able to live another day, to face the British empire, eventually they won the independence of the United States. The United States of America is not perfect, but how many have been blessed over the years because of the USA? Millions have, all because of one man, through him a new nation came forth. From Valley Forge, to now and into the future, millions of rewards are accounted to George Washington in heaven. However, wherever and whenever there is a blessing accounted to George Washington because of the nation he brought forth, beneath the surface is a double blessing or reward to a little mother, Mary Washington for the positive Christian value she sowed into the life of her son, President George Washington. - Ecclesiastes 1:18In Posting questionsNovember 18, 2018The sorrow spoken of here, has to do with the wisdom or the knowledge of the world, sought after by individuals who think the more they learn of what the world has to offer, the better they will be. At times this is the case, but the duration of their obtained happiness is soon turned into sorrow. The soul that is without God can never be satisfied, for there is an unknown emptiness within, which is the absence of the presence of God. Unknowingly, at times, the individual will attempt to fill the void, but to no avail, inducing regrets which leads to sorrow. Whereas, the soul that once dwells in the presence of the Lord, but wanders away for the desire of the world, he or she will never find rest in all the world has to offer. Such was Solomon the writer of Ecclesiastes 1:18. For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increases knowledge increases sorrow. As a young man he sought the wisdom of God, and he received by the graciousness of the Lord and His love for Solomon. However, as an adult and a king, Solomon wanders away from his true source of wisdom which is God. He turned to the world for understanding, despite being wiser than the world. Nevertheless, he turns from God, to the world. In the end, the more he knew of the world without God, the more he grieved, the more he understood, the more his sorrow thereof increases. The more we learn of ourselves without Christ, the less satisfied we will be with who we are. It is easy to sin against the Lord, but it is hard to stop loving Him. It was through love we were saved. For those who wander and backslide, through love they shall be restored. Like Solomon, in his last words he concluded by saying; let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole of man. That is to say, if a man keeps the commandments of God, or abide in the directive path of the Lord, he is a whole man, without which, he or she is incomplete, with a void of sorrows and griefs. True happiness is not predicated on how much we know, but how we use what we have come to know.70
