Names and their significance

The word "name" from a basic definition is, that by which a thing is called. However, from a Biblical perspective, a name served more than an identification, it portrays the reputation of a character or a thing; Or a sign in relation to its surroundings or a giving time. Names that were directly linked with God, were of a significant revelation.

An example would be the grandfather of Noah, named Methuselah, though he is primarily known to be the longest-lived human. However, the insight to his name is a revelation to behold. His name means - WHEN HE IS DEAD IT SHALL BE SENT.  What shall be sent? The longer he lives, the more the grace of God was seen in the earth. Upon his death; came the flood.
