Understanding the different laws of physics and how they come into play, doesn't eliminate God. Men in their wisdom, used the attributes of the laws to explain the unknown, by that they study the physical attributes of the law of nature, but fail to acknowledge the unseen source of the law which is the spiritual. Though the rainbow might be the physical reflection of light and liquid, but from where did the light and the liquid come from and to what cause were they articulately established? - Practical and Metaphorical approach to Scriptures.
The word question, at times carries the connotation of a doubt or to be uncertain of. However, if a question is simply something proposed which is to be solved by answer. Let those who have a question sincerely desire an answer rather than casting a doubt. Therefore, as a Christian our uncertainty of a given subject, or a scripture is a pathway to knowledge. To address every question or uncertainties for a better understanding, is far beyond the human natural approach. However, with the right method set in place, our uncertainty will be made conformable to the answer we seek from above. The study of interest is the practical use of the scriptures alongside the metaphorical application of the scriptures. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, or (teaching) for reproof, or (conviction) for correction, for instruction in righteousness, or doing that which is right. (2 Timothy 3:16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God; meaning, it is from God. God-breathed, the breath of the individual is as unique as the fingerprint of the individual. The breath within us surpasses the fingerprint as to the uniqueness of the person, in that it serves far more than a unique pattern for identification. The breath of the individual is unique to the person while reflecting the changes unseen by the natural eyes, within the individual on a daily basis. The thoughts, the feeling, mood and more. So then, considering the scripture is inspired by God, or God-breathed. Let it be the believers’ utmost desire to understand its meaning rather than conforming it to us. Let us desire that we conform to it that we maybe conform to Him. The scripture is profitable for teaching; that which is profitable shall bring forth a gain. In this case, a gain or a profit in the life of the believer. The gain or profit is predicated upon the word teaching. (Meaning instructing; informing) if we open the Word of God with a willing heart to be taught by the receiving of instructions, then we shall gain in our growth and understanding, but if the Word of God is use for self-gratification without inspiration, where shall the gain comes from? Consequently, there shall be no profit, nor a gain. The Scripture is for conviction, for correction. Or, better translated; restoring to an upright state. One that is restored upright is first guilty of fallen, corrupted and misled. Even when we have gone astray, for a multiple of reasons; may we call on to the Lord like King David of old. “I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments. (Psalms 119:176)” May we hear His voice and follow, for He (Christ) said; My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (John 10:27) The lost of our past, for the lack of better understanding of Scripture, shall be a gain if we are willing to conform to His words. Conform me into Your Words. That You may watch over me more than all. Let us seek out the practical meaning of the Scripture before its metaphorical application. Lest we symbolize the entirety of the Word of God, rendering it useless to us. There are times, we are willing to learn, but we still do not understand. One might ask; What does a word of phrase mean here, or there, and why are there a lot of metaphors used in the Bible? I am not good at understanding them. An example can be drawn from the passage of Joel 2:25 … I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. For many readers, the first point of interest in such passage is the phrase; “I will restore.” They claim the blessing and close the book. While they wait for the restoration without understanding the reason for being restored, and the cause for lost or destruction which could serve as a warning. Lest calamity befalls us, like those that are being restored according to the verse mentioned. The First thing we ought to do when we read the Bible, let us try to understand it from its literal standpoint. The Bible is our book of rules and living, but it is also a book of history. Like none other, it stands as an infallible history, inspired by God. Therefore, if contradictions arise, it is of the reader’s lack of perception. So then, let it be an opportunity to gain a better insight. For this reason, whenever we read a verse or chapters, may we try to understand the literal meaning of that verse. The verse of Joel 2:25 and the sum of the book of Joel recalls the strike of disaster. The desolation of the land without warning. It was a time in Israel like none ever. The living green things of the land soon laid bare due to the desolation made by hosts of noxious insects. Disasters in the Scripture are usually the precursor of divine judgment. Through this, the prophet Joel, foresee the invasion of these insects as a harbinger to a further judgment due to sin. (Joel 1:6) The ruin of the land was used to illustrate the divine Judgments that were about to be inflicted upon the Land. (George William) The invasion of the locust was devastating, the people have never seen anything like it before (Joel 1:2), but out of the destruction, God gives His promise to His people, to restore the years they have lost. I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten. Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. The second part of the verse goes into details explaining the stages of the locusts. Locust means swarm or the swarmer Palmerworm means to gnaw off Cankerworm means to lick off Caterpillar means to devour These are the stages; they swarm, they gnaw, they lick, and they devour. Now we have understood the passage from a literal standpoint. We can now apply it to our lives; this is when we use a metaphorical approach. We can say as a believer, all the difficulties we go through, God will restore everything we’ve lost due to the wages of sin, He will restore it to us. Having repented, and turn away by doing that which is right. Metaphorically, the locust represents sin. We are told in John 10:10… the thief comes to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. The first stage of sin is overwhelming, the pleasure of sin or the struggle of rejection. Like a locust it swarms and overwhelm. Like a Palmerworm, it gnaws into our mind. Then slowly sin starts to pleasure the sinner; like a Cankerworm, it licks. Lastly sin destroys, like a Caterpillar, it devours. - Tell no man
Why did Jesus warn his disciples, not to tell anyone of His power of transfiguration of a radiant, glorious light until after the Cross, and His risen from the dead? An exposition dealing with the scene of the Transfiguration. (Moses Elijah and Jesus) (Matthew 17:9) And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead. Herein, the mind might wonder, Christ is the Messiah, and what has just transpired inferably proves that He is. Yet, He commanded those who have witnessed His transfiguration . . . tell no man. To fully grasp the indication herein, is to fully understand Christ in His totality. Yes, He is God in the flesh, such was evidence as He stood and talked with Elijah and Moses. However, knowing Christ as God with all power does not suffice the knowing of Him in fullness. As He is God in the flesh, He is the suffering Saviour, the perfect man, the perfect Sacrifice, the slain Lamb of God. The Cross was the platform on which Christ the slain Lamb of God was revealed to man. Therefore, unless the believer can understand the importance of the Cross, by seeing Christ in His fullness as God, and as the slain Lamb, the believer can tell no man about Jesus. Although as God, He made all things (John 1:3) and can do all things, but as the slain Lamb, He did saved man. Until this has resonated in the soul of the believer, and the evidence of His resurrection because of His death to save us. Unless these things be fully risen in the life of the believer, the believer can tell no man of Christ. Those the Lord commanded to tell no man of what they have seen were, Peter, James and John. These three represent the platform from which the Gospel of Jesus Christ would go forth, and many more did follow, such as the apostle Paul, along with every true believer of today. Therefore, what was spoken to them, must be heard by us today. The message of the preachers for today and the conversation among today's believers, is not to glory in outward personifications, nor ritualistic practices. For the words of the Lord to them was, tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead. (This speaks of the Cross) Therefore, Christ can never be risen in us until we accept the fact that He first died for us. If Christ died for us, His death represents our incapability and dependence on Him. Therefore, he who is dependent on another, must abide and trust that his or her needs will be met. So shall be the believer’s relationship with God. We can only get to such place by denying self, by trusting in God for all things. Then, shall we tell all men of the greatness of Him (Jesus) that they too may retire from their repetition of vain works and their ritualistic practices for the fear of superstition. - The things we know that are wrong, yet we do.
The phrase above, can be rightly brought in relation with the word Sanctification, or the phrase Progressive sanctification. Though the word sanctification is not within the daily vocabulary of most individuals. Nevertheless, the lack of sanctification in the unbeliever, and the need for sanctification in the believer are both apropos to their well-being. Regardless of the lack of comprehension of the word, or the limited use of the word in one's vocabulary, we all share the effects of its absence or deficiency, or the lack of understanding thereof. This we know, for in us dwell the will to do good; meaning we desire to do the right thing because we know right from wrong. However, at times we find ourselves doing that which is wrong, despite desiring to do the right thing. The degree of struggle within the individual varies. As well as the acts of wrong doing varies, despite knowing that which we constantly find ourselves doing is wrong, yet we continue without the ability to stop. He or she who does not understand Sanctification and Progressive-Sanctification. Will in due time accept the act of wrongdoing as a part of who they are, which is the equivalence of accepting error in hopelessness. Then there are those who, for the lack of understanding of Sanctification, they erect regiments of rules and regulations. Without addressing the problem, their rules and laws act as a containment to the problem, but a temporal containment, but within that which is attempted to be contained is but a raging inferno waiting to erupt. So then what is Sanctification, and how shall it make a difference in the struggle of doing that which is hated, yet it is done? Sanctification is the act of setting apart. Follow by the three parts of Sanctification. That which is set apart must be removed from one stage to another stage. Therefore, those who struggle with a condition they are a part of a situation they desire not to be a part of. Through Sanctification they are set apart. Now comes the Three Parts of Sanctification, the understanding thereof will determine the effectiveness of living without a struggle or the ineffectiveness of living in failure. Set apart to God The Separation from evil or that which is wrong The honoring stage of Sanctification 1. Set apart to God Upon Salvation, the believer is set apart to God. Wherewith we feel the love of God and the desire to do that which is right. However, we are set apart to God, not because in us dwell Holiness. Our set apart is for the lack of Holiness, to be made holy; this we call Progressive sanctification. That which is Progressive, is ongoing. Therefore, though we fail at times, but this we know, we are better today than we were before our salvation. Being confident of this very thing, that He (God) who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Meaning He will continue to work in us that which is Good until the day of Jesus Christ (when Christ returns) Therefore, being separate to God, doesn’t mean the believer is sinless, but rather the beginning of an ongoing work in the believer. The work of Progressive Sanctification. 2. The Separation from evil or that which is wrong The acceptance of God’s ongoing work in the believer through the Holy Spirit, is not a license or excuse to sin. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. (1 Thessalonians 4:7) So then, if the believer is sanctified at Salvation, set apart to God, separated from evil things, but still sins. Yet considered holy; One might ask the question, what is the difference between a sinner who is sinning, and a believer who is holy and yet sin? The difference lies in the word hope and the word position. The believer, though in the world, he or she is not a part of the world, they are separate to God. Whereas the sinner who is sinning, is still in the world, the abode of sin. Like the illustration of two logs, exposed to the element of the rain. Both being saturated in the elements. One of the logs is brought into the house. (the change of position) The other is left outside in the element. At the initial stage both logs are wet, but over time the log that is separate from the outside elements will be free from the moist, and ready to use. Such is the believer who is set apart to God. However, the log that remains outside in the element will decay onto destruction, for it is without a hope. The word hope in modern uses, implies a wishful thinking, wherein there is an uncertainty of an outcome, but wish for the best. However, the biblical use of hope is seldomly without a doubt, it is with expectation. For it is in God, the implication is looking ahead for something good, but must be waited for. This is the hope; the sinner of the world is without. So often the believer goes through distress, but survives because the believer sees beyond the condition with hope in God. On the contrary the sinner of the world ceased to progress in distressed by the taking of their lives for the lack of hope. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. (2 Corinthians 4:8-9) 3. The honoring stage of Sanctification or the reverence of Sanctification, is the third part of Progressive sanctification. The honoring and reverence spoken of here is not about the individual, but rather the stage of realization of the veneration of God. Through this, our focus is not on our shortcomings, but the honest fellowship with God. forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before us. There are some who genuinely possess love within. However, from their expression proceed uncontrollable temper. Which leads to anger, where common sense is replaced with the propensity to obtain satisfaction through vengeance, verbally or physically. There are those with a great mind for the Lord, but the expression of dissatisfaction is expressed through profanity. There are those with knowledge, but engage in thoughts of foolishness. So are the struggles of lust, fear and the likes. Nevertheless, through honor and reverence to God, shall the believer call upon the Lord. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence; and take not your holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of your salvation; and uphold me with your free spirit. (Psalms 51:10-12) The more we see the Lord during struggles, the lesser we see or experience those things we hate, but we find ourselves doing. May we pray the prayer of the apostle; That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death; (Philippians 3:10) That I may know Him Let us know Christ, even in failure or tribulation. Knowing His grace is sufficient. Thus, His words of assurance; My grace is sufficient for you: for My strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9) The power of his resurrection As Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4) That is to say, if the power of death could not hold Him down, rest assure He has the power to break every chain of bondage and struggle, if we continue to believe in Him. Fellowship of his sufferings He gives His life that I may live, He became sin, that I may be clean. He was despised and rejected that I may be accepted. stripped of His garments that I may be clothed in a robe of righteousness. He was nailed to a sinner’s Cross that I may be free from sin. He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5) Being made conformable unto His death May our self will of pride and the flesh be crucified with Christ. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) The flesh spoken of here is not the tissue of the body, rather the nature of the individual. The nature that is not conformed to the Lord is a nature that will fall into carnality and self-will. We cannot live without a will, but our will must be made conformable to God's will. The flesh must be crucified that we may be risen in newness of life. Meaning, may your will be done in me Lord, not my will, but your will. Without which, when the self-will of the individual fails to perform, then rules, regulations and laws are erected. These acts serve as containment to the problem, as previously stated, but a temporal containment. The acts of containment from the unbeliever and the believer. The denial of failures or the unawareness thereof will lead to the erecting of rules or laws through works in both the believer and unbeliever. The unbeliever resort in self-help, self-motivation and the likes thereof. Whereas the believer who does not understand Sanctification uses the right things for the wrong reason, such as fasting to overcome a problem. Sanctification is progressive, it is imputed by faith and faith alone. God is not a respecter of person, meaning He doesn’t sanctify one individual differently from another. If deliverance from a problem came by fasting, how can the elderly who need food be delivered? Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. (Galatians 2:16) The way we came in, is the way we abide. Salvation was obtained by faith, not because we are good, but God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (Romans 5:8-9) Justified by His blood, speaks of the work of Christ, on our behalf. His work of redemption on the Cross, through His work that we might rest in Him. Whatsoever the problem is or the struggle, He is faithful, He has called you, and He will do that which is needed to be done. By faith we were saved, by faith shall we live the Christian life. Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens. Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us. - The name Jacob and its relation to the Christian.
The name Jacob and the person Jacob are the symbolic representation of the Christian, in our ongoing sanctification. Though we are being sanctified, it is by the working power of God in us and not of ourselves. (Psalms 20:1) The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee. Though we are the chosen ones of God, our inadequacies do not disqualify us as the children of God. It is God who has called us to Himself by faith, and we did yield to His called through Jesus Christ our Lord. He shall continue to work in us His righteousness by His Holy Spirit, for His glorification. As Jacob name was changed from Jacob to Israel, through the ongoing sanctification of God in His life, we too shall be changed, for the glory of God. Then shall He say unto us, thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified. (Isaiah 49:3) The name Jacob and its relation to the Christian. As Jacob, his name means a supplanter. One who wrongfully seizes and holds the place of another, in order to obtain through stratagems. Such is the life of a Christian in the process of sanctification. Though we become aware of the goodness of God, for He has chosen us, but in our will power we wrongfully try to obtain the favor of God through our stratagem and works. By the formulating of our tactical ability or maneuver, intending to gain an advantage. Thereby, we deceive ourselves, assuming we are helping God through our tactics to better ourselves, by whatsoever means those might be. So then, can men obtain God's favor and goodness without God? Unequivocally no, any attempt to do so will result in the disadvantage toward our fellow men, through the deceitfulness on our part, in order to gain an advantage over others that we may appear more favorable to the will of God. This was the position of Jacob before he became Israel. In truth, he knew the goodness of God. In sincerity he desired the favor of God. By right, he was chosen as the recipient of the favor of God, but through his stratagem he deceived himself in assuming the favor and the goodness of God will be brought forth through his self-will, by his tactics. In so doing Jacob also deceive his father and brother, in an attempt to gain an advantage for the favor and the goodness of God. The experience of Jacob, in relation to the Christian life of today. The act of Jacob then, is the ongoing struggle for the believer now, those who are God's people by faith. Yet, the believing Christian at times, glory in self-effort, abilities, formula and stratagem. In hope for the favor of God, by deceiving themselves, they deceive those around them. In deception, the will of God is supplanted by the stratagem of man. Though it seems pleasant for a while, but it is written: There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. (Proverbs 14:12) Death is inevitable, not as a punishment from God, but due to man’s refusal to distinguish the self-will of wrongdoing, from the right way which is God's way. So then, is the believer to die for the cause of depending on self, rather than depending on God? The death of the believer here, is the death of the will of the believer. Through this we say, it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. If Christ lives in me, then may His will be done in me. Like Jacob, upon the realization of his stratagem of wrongdoing by trusting in self, he was brought to a place of dependence on God. For Jacob then and all Christians now, this is the place of Solitude. One can never know who they truly are, until they are left alone, away from possession, away from self and pride. This was Jacob, as recorded in Genesis chapter 32. For many years, he lived a life away from his brother, for what had transpired between them. Now, he was to face the fury of his brother. Having sent his family away, with all that he had, he was left alone. Isolation is not desolation Let this be a lesson for today, though Jacob was left alone, but he was alone with God. Are you in a place of loneliness? Nevertheless, what is the conversation of your isolation, pity of your condition, or a sincere clinging to God for a change in your life? This is the struggle for the Christian, even in the place of solitariness, the mind contemplates a strategy of self will to overcome the struggle. Thus, it is illustrated in the passage of Genesis 32:24 . . . Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. The word wrestled used here, is to struggle with. The man referred to, was the Pre-Incarnate Jesus Christ, in the form of a man. Let us observe, it was Christ who wrestled with Jacob, quite the opposite as we are accustomed to perceiving it was Jacob wrestling with Christ. The difference lies in the outcome, he who wrestles with Christ seeks for a change that he or she knows not of. On the contrary, if Christ wrestles with us, then it is He who working on us to bring about the change in us that is absolutely needed. Such was Jacob, all night they wrestled, physically they wrestled, but spiritually the lesson for today is the believer fight against the will of God in their life, for a change which is needed. However, most believers will not yield to the Lord. This transformation from the Lord cannot be manifested until we let go of our will and yield to Him. This is a place of pride in self, the flesh, or our previous understandings which are contrary to the Word of God. When this is no longer our thinking, we are ushered into a place where faith is the eye to the mind by discerning God’s will. Then shall the broken believer, cling on to the Lord by faith. Lord, I cannot let you go, but bless me. Then shall we know Who Christ is to us, and what we are to Him. This was Jacob . . . When He (the Lord) saw that He prevailed not against him – Jacob resistance to yield. He (the Lord) touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as He wrestled with him. (Genesis 32:25) He said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. This was the plead of Jacob to the Lord. Now he was a broken man, for his thigh was out of joint, a type of inability to stand upright by the individual willpower. The thigh also represents the strength of the man, for on his thigh he wore his sword to tread down his foes. One touch from the Lord and no longer could Jacob rely on his willpower. Whatever struggles we face, the battle is not ours, but God’s. Henry once wrote; Wrestling believers may obtain glorious victories, and yet come off with broken bones; for when they are weak then are they strong, weak in themselves, but strong in Christ. We must also acknowledge who we are for a change, for what we ought to be. Corresponding, in a position of total surrender to the Lord, this was His question to Jacob. What is your name? He knew the name of Jacob, but by asking him, Jacob would acknowledge who he was, a supplanter. Though we know that which is right, but we do not easily yield to the Truth. And He (Christ) said to him, What is your name? And he said, Jacob. (Admit who he was) And He (Christ) said, Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, because you have wrestled with God and with men, and have prevailed. (Genesis 32:27-28) No longer was he Jacob, a supplanter or a fraud. Now, he was Israel – meaning a prince with God. Jimmy Swaggart once said; The only battle we win is the battle the Lord wins over us. Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Thou art the Potter, I am the clay. Mold me and make me after Thy will, While I am waiting, yielded and still. Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! But now, O LORD, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. - Water baptism
To further understand the topic of Water Baptism, we must understand the word Baptism. The two definitions, imply; to dip in, or in the sense of immersing. Although, there are types of Baptism, but where there is a little understanding, there is much error, therefore the interest of consideration is Water Baptism. The error ascribe to Water Baptism is the automatic receiving of Salvation by the one being baptized at the age of accountability or as an infant. The assumption is, through this process Salvation is earn. Furthermore, without this there is no remission of sins and there is no path to Salvation. Water baptism is the outward expression of the inward change of heart. Therefore, to be baptized in water does not save a person. Instead, it is an expression showing the one being baptize is already saved. Like the union of marriage, a wedding ring is given to show the outward representation of the holy matrimony, but before the ring is given, the love is already present. So is water baptism, it is the outward expression of the believer already established fellowship with God. God is not the respecter of a person, meaning His rules does not include certain individuals while excluding others. If salvation is through the act of being emerge, dip or pour with water, what shall be the fate of those in a certain geographical location, who do not even have the water to drink, less to dip themselves in? Shall they be left out of God's salvation plan? God forbid. Salvation is the acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith, God's gift to humanity. Salvation is carried out within the hearts of men. (Romans 10:13) All men are born with a will, consequently, and all men have the choice of accepting Jesus Christ, God's plan for humanity. Salvation is the entrance into fellowship with God, then comes sanctification and ultimately, glorification. Meaning, upon salvation, we are set apart to be worked on by the Holy Spirit who lives in the heart of the believer. Our human nature is now being purged. Hence, we no longer take pleasure in wrong doing. Even when that which is wrong is enacted, the guilt is present. This is the act of sanctification. We are not yet perfect, but we press toward perfection, which is glorification. As salvation is not in ourselves, meaning we do not fabricate it. Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free. The choice of this date is an ideal time for a joyous social gathering, where the weather is blooming and the people are ready for the transition from the confinement of winter to the freedom of summer. Where there is freedom, the price of freedom was paid, and the ransom for freedom was given to uphold the attributes of freedom. Too often the attributes of freedom are perceived as freedom, wherewith families enjoy the outdoors, the meal and the bonding, rightfully so. But the preserving of the memory for the reason for the joyous activities is far forgotten. Had it not been for the men and women who give their lives as a ransom for freedom, there wouldn't be freedom as we know it today. For unto us who reap the attributes of freedom. May we with passion aims to serve the country defending it from invasion, by protecting its rights and maintaining its laws and institutions in purity. Time is never too short to call upon the Lord for salvation because faith is greater than time. But the opportunity to call upon the Lord for salvation is passing by. And they bring him (Christ) unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull. (Mark 15:22) And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death. And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. (Luke 23:32-34) And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If You be Christ, save Yourself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Do not you fear God, seeing you are in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man has done nothing amiss. LORD, REMEMBER ME, a supplication by one man in desperation; turned a prayer for the millions for a hope of tomorrow. The thief on the Cross represents those that are at the end of the proverbial rope. Even at death, the Son of God is by the side of the lost and dying, with His arm open for acceptance. Such was the image of Calvary Cross. A sinless Christ, nailed to a Roman Cross, between two sinners. Christ being aware of the pain, while willing to take on their burdens by the removal of a wasted sinful past, and turn death into life, despite their sinful past. They robbed themselves of life, and now they hung in the balance between heaven, for eternal life and hanged over hell for eternal damnation. As the painful judgement of the Cross imposes on them, yet every painful judgment that is felt, Christ felt the same. Christ is willing to save, but some are not willing to be saved. He took on sin, without becoming sin that He might set us free from sin. (1 Peter 2:24) Blessed are those who desire to be saved, and they shall be saved. There were two others who hung on their crosses with Christ, they were in pain, so was Christ. They were ridiculed, but Christ was ridiculed the most. They were facing death, and Christ was too. Despite all that and when it seems like all hope was gone. The thief did not look at His condition, he looked to Christ by faith. Though the Lord was without a royal robe, neither was He with the host of heavenly angels. Yet the dying thief saw Christ as someone who felt and understood His problem. (How we see Christ, determine how we approach Him in the time of need. He who sees Christ as the Saviour, must first acknowledge Him as the Sacrifice, Hebrews 10:10) He reaches out to God through Christ, with faith, knowing the one who is suffering with him, is the same who can save him. He saw far beyond his present condition, and consider eternity. Where would it be spent, Heaven or Hell? There is only one place between Heaven and Hell, and that place is a temporal place, and it is now. What we accept now will determine where we abide forever. Jesus Christ, who He is and what He did for humanity; through the acceptance of this on our part, it is the only path to life eternal. Anything else leads to damnation. Will a loving God who is love, and give His only begotten Son to establish a path to Him, condemn a soul to hell forever? Absolutely not, the rejection of the plan for the prevention from hell is what cause a soul to descent to hell. However, God never sends anyone to hell, it is a man’s rejection of God that sends a soul to hell. The Time is never too short to call upon the Lord for salvation. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. In the petition of the thief, his prayer was answered instantly, without man’s establishment of religious requirements of rules and regulations. He didn’t have to learn a doctrine of a denomination, to be accepted. Neither was he water baptized before the Lord accepted him, but by faith he called on to the Lord: And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Truly I say unto you, Today shall you be with Me in paradise. (Luke 23:42-43) Three crosses stood on Calvary's hill, twas crucifixion day The time had come to pay sin's debt, and death was the only way A hammer and a soldier's swing beat out redemption's sound And from those hands that healed the sick, His blood came streaming down There is no curse on Golgotha’s hill, like there was when Jesus died The crowd has passed away, that stood to watch Him be crucified Two thousand years have come and gone since that day on Calvary But the blood that flows from God's own Son, it’s till setting sinners free And from precious veins, sinners’ chains were broken by the blood Those rusty nails that shook the gates of Hell, had started a crimson flood To one and to all, who would heed this gospel call, are waiting liberty And the truth remains and will never change, His blood still sets men free. There at the Cross, were two men, guilty and condemn. Yet, it was never late to call upon the name of the Lord for salvation. But the opportunity to call upon the Lord for salvation was passed by for one. He willingly chose his path of damnation, through his refusal to freely receive the gift of pardon. Whereas the other is no longer a thief guilty of eternal damnation. He called upon the name of the Lord and was saved. The act of repentance through recognition of the Lord. - The woman with the issue of blood
That which was then, may serve as a lesson to the desiring hearts today and testament for the ages to come. The place of our text is Capernaum, a name familiar to the readers of the Bible and familiar to the historians. A rather small village, spanning the bronze period to the Hellenistic period, into the time of Christ and beyond. History records the woman with the issue of blood as Veronica, a woman of wealth and repute. But where sin abound and its works of agony, social status is of no value. The scripture relates the account as follows: When Jesus was passed over again (from the country of Gadara, after healing the man with a demon, now to Capernaum) by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him (Jesus), he fell at his feet, And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, (she) came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. Touching the Lord is reaching out to God from Whom our power comes from. In our failure to see God in a bleak situation (like this lady) she had an issue of blood, referring to a menstrual period, but for every month for 12 years. Due to this and according to the standard of that time frame; she was not allowed to be in a public gathering. Therefore, she was to be separated and isolated. A cruel reality, but the perfect illustration of sin. Was her illness of continual bleeding, a sin? The answer is no. However, one of the lessons to be learned from this illustration is the likeness of an illness as sin, metaphorically speaking. Before going any further, let us examine the effects of sin on the sinner. Sin empowered the sinner blinding them into the path of self-destruction. This was the case of the previous happening before Capernaum, where Jesus healed the demoniac. A madman living among the tombs, and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: For that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. His strength did not better his situation, instead we are told; throughout, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. He was empowered to break fetters and chains, but the power of sin could not set him free, but led him to a place of sadness, pain and self-destruction. Then Jesus came, and He set the captive of sin free. Next, we are told of the account of a ruler of the synagogue, Jairus by name. A religious leader in charge of the Jews place of worship, as well as some community matters. His supplication was for his daughter at the point of death. Here we see another effect of sin. It did not empower the strong in an attempt to destroy, as it was with the demoniac. Instead, it ruthlessly, sought the destruction of the feeble, a child. Now back to our text, the lady with the issue of blood, despite her social status as a woman of wealth and repute; slowly she was dying from within. She suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse. Due to her illness she could not be in the midst of others, but Christ is never too far if we reach out to Him, by faith. As the Lord and His disciples were in routs to the house of Jairus for the healing of Jairus’ sick daughter; without a doubt the news has spread of the works of Jesus through the little village of Capernaum, with multiple leaving their places of business and homes in hope to see the one who has healed a Man with a Demon; and the many accounts of Christ’s miracle, this causes the crowd to grow anxious and larger, no longer were His disciples able to form a barrier around Him, they too became the crowd. Making it even harder for the lady with the issue of blood to be touch by the Lord. Jimmy Swaggart once said, if the Lord can’t touch you, reach out to Him, and touch Him. Although her situation seems all but bleak, but by faith she continues to push forward. For she said, If I may but touch His garments, I will be cured. The implication of the touching of Jesus garments, should not be seen from a western mind set. The word clothes or garments used here, referred to a customary garment known as a tallit, it was worn on the shoulders, usually it was blue in color, signifying the heavens or heavenly provision. Therefore, as men of the earth walk this earth, the burden should not be the physical necessity of this life, but let us be under God’s heavenly provision. On the tallit were knotted fringes known as tzitzit; attached to its four corners. The four represented the dominion of God throughout the earth; North, South, East and West. Therefore, wherever we are, we can reassure His presence is there. Even if it is in the crowd of multiple. True faith is from God and it will connect with Him. Immediately as she touches the tip of the tzitzit she was healed. Instantly the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she knew in her body that she was healed of the plague. The response of Jesus should give us two lessons to behold. He asked who touch me, despite being thronged by the crowd. Immediately Jesus having known in himself that out of him power had gone forth, having turned about in the multitude and said, `Who did touch my garments?' First, we understand the healing power was not from His garments, but the power came from Jesus. Too often the believer puts his or her focus on the means of contact and not the One being contact. Note, the Scripture said out of Him power went forth. The lesson here is the means in which we reach out to the Lord, should not be our focus. This could be a prayer, if so the power is not in our prayer, but the one we pray to. If we fast and restrain from food; the power is not in the fasting, but the one we desire to be closer to; the Lord Jesus Christ. Whatsoever the means we used to reach out to the Lord; it is initiated by faith. Like the lady of our text, she was one of the multitude; there were many, but through faith, she touched Him. Many were gathered around Him, but one touch Him. The second lesson from the Lord’s reaction is to establish accountability in the believer, to openly proclaim the works of God among men. Therefore, his question as to `Who did touch my garments?' Is not a lack of knowing on his part, but a means to willingly bring her out that she may proclaim the wondrous work of God in her life. Certainly not to bring attention to himself, but to commend her faith Through this, others will be inspired and blessed. And He looked around to see the one who had done this. Without knowing his intention, she was scared, and literally shaking all over. According to the Leviticus Law of that time, a woman in her situation with blood issue, was forbidden to public gathering, moreover, she touched him … The woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell before him, and told him all the truth . . . However, the love of Jesus is greater than the deepest fear we feel. She threw herself down at his feet, signifying she was at his mercy. Looking down upon her, His words to her without a doubt stunned her being; eradicating her fear with great joy to look upon him, as she slowly lifts her head looking up at him with gratitude in her heart. For his first word to her was; Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. No longer was she the woman with the issue of blood; She became a member of the family God. - Woman, the forgotten art of being a woman.
Within every female, is the development of Motherhood; or the unveiling thereof. In some, the stage of Motherhood will come into fruition, whereas for others, it is but a dream. That which is a development, is the unfolding discovering of something withheld from the knowledge of others. Nevertheless, it is present, but unseen until it is revealed. This is Motherhood, the uniqueness and the driving force within all females; the young and the mature. The uniqueness of a female, however, is not only predicated upon being a mother. They are all born unique and special, for in them is love and life. However, Motherhood, prepares the little girl to love, and the awareness that in her is the unseen source of life. Regardless if she experiences being a mother or the lack thereof. Her being is still the epitome of life and love. Whereas, for those who experience being a mother, in them is the knowledge of an unmatched love, life and the nourishing of life. The wheel that moves society forward, or backwards. On March 8, most of the world celebrates a day of Women; International Women's day. For some this is a day dedicated to women, but the truth is, a good husband or a spouse knows every day is about her. Likewise, the father of a little girl or a parent to a little girl, is aware she needs love daily, not just a day. And the son or daughter should forever be grateful to their mother. For others, March 8 is more than a day to celebrate women. It is a time of agenda indoctrination. The United Nations' theme for International Women's Day 2015 was "Empowering Women…” From then until now (2018), about $ 1.3 billion has been spent by the United States worldwide for this cause. If Women are not empowered, then they are the victim of rejection. Where there is a victim, there is a perpetrator. If the perpetrator is not held accountable by being the focus on the problem, the empowering of women only gives the perpetrator more reason to come against the woman. Yes, a noble cause to empower a woman, but the woman is not the one needing a change in this situation. Those who abuse women are the perpetrators needing a change. Happiness, peace and prosperity is not based on wealth and power, rather the knowledge of love and respect. The women that are abused are not victims for the lack of love, or the lack of respect in their being. They are abused when their love and respect are taken advantage of by men who are not held accountable for their action. In 2017, the United States distributed $1.3 billion in aid for women around the world for gender equality. Afghanistan is the top recipient with $253 million. The same year of 2017, the violence against women was on the rise in the country. The Oxfam reports the country “remains one of the most dangerous places to be a woman. 87% of Afghan women have experienced some form of violence.” The increase of assault against women is on the rise, and the disrespect of the gender. So then, why would a lady seek equality to be as the cause of the problem? Society's mistake will be when it succeeds to make all women think they are the same as men. The woman was created for the man. This is not to demean the woman as a property of the man, rather the man without the woman is nothing. My recollection knowing right from wrong. It was a beautiful summer moonlight evening; the kids of the neighborhood gathered on the porch of my family home. I proudly sat on a bench given to me by my great grandmother for my 11th birthday. Visiting was my aunt, the last child of my grandparents, strangely so she is the aunt I am older than. She came up to me and said to me, Momma is calling you. I woke up instantly to go inside to meet with my mother. Before I could leave the porch to enter the house, my young aunt chuckled and took my bench. We were all kids, but my action as a kid did not validate my doing. I turned around knowing she was telling a lie. I removed her from the bench and sat back thereon. She stormed into the house, telling my mom what has happened. I could hear the voice of my mother calling me. A child can tell the mother’s feeling through the tone of her voice, even if it is a single word. As I walk into the house from the porch, leaving the moonlight behind and entering into the soft night lights of the living room. I felt within myself, this is going to be easy, my aunt told a lie, and we are not to tell a lie, so I am right, and she is wrong. My mother, sitting down looking at the both of us, asked me what has happened. I explained, but to my utmost surprise; my mother said to me, you are wrong. Before I could reiterate in defense. She stopped me and said, never again, should you ever take a girl or a woman from a seat, never. Do you understand me? I was in shock, but it was my mother and she meant what she said. I acknowledge that I understood. However, this wasn’t yet over. She then said to me, now apologize to her. It wasn’t pleasant for me, I felt like a failure knowing what I did was wrong because of a mother who did the right thing. I did apologize to my youngest aunt. I felt like a pebble, but today, I rather grow from a pebble into a mountain than being a mountain without knowing what it is to be a pebble. As we both walked back outside, she said to my aunt, her sister, go and find your own seat. She didn’t have to, I willingly gave her mine. What if I wasn’t told I was wrong? The mentality of what I did that evening was going to shape who I am today and my perception of women. What if my mother would have said to my young aunt, go and stand up to him? My childish, ignorant rage was going to lead me to overpower her more. I concluded my aunt felt good about herself at the conclusion of this. Therefore, a lady can feel empowered in many ways, if the right people are available to do the right thing on her behalf. If we as a society try to contain the problem, without addressing the source of the problem, the containment will hold, but for a while, until another precious female is the victim. As society pushes gender equality, and gender neutrality, which were influenced Marxism through leaders such as Clara Zetkin, a Marxist. A philosophy which brings forth Communism, without digression from our point of interest. We shall look briefly at the meaning of Communism. A political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned, and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs. On paper this presents itself as an ideal society, but what happens if a person’s ability is below a certain standard? Or if they are no longer needed? Or disagree on a given topic? For this, we gain a deeper insight into Communism, of which the gender equality movement is heading. From its first development in 1917 until now, there have been an estimated 94 million deaths from Communist regimes worldwide. 65 million in the People's Republic of China 20 million in the Soviet Union 2 million in Cambodia 2 million in North Korea 1.7 million in Ethiopia 1.5 million in Afghanistan 1 million in the Eastern Bloc 1 million in Vietnam 150,000 in Latin America 10,000 deaths "resulting from actions of the international Communist movement and Communist parties not in power. The statistics deaths of these victims were brought about in many ways, including executions, man-made hunger, and forced labor, etc., In the such world, would the woman be safer than she is now? A country can fight against another country and in defeat one side may survive. Relatives may fight against one another, but somewhere down the line their descendants may make things right. However, a battle between the genders, without divine intervention, it will be the demise of society. The gentle heroes A woman is great when she realizes who she is through her God-given abilities and apply them with love. Such was the historical record of the dawn of World War II. As patriotic men and boys stepped forth to defend their country at war, overseas. Their departure left a vacuum in the factories of the United States. This vacuum was filled with millions of mothers, daughters, wives, schoolgirls and secretaries. Building tools, machinery, weapons and planes that would eventually win World War II. A war doesn’t last forever, but the wheel of society must continue to roll onward. The woman is the wheel that keeps society moving. Today, society is stalling, in most third world countries and non-western nations, women are the victims of brute men who are virtually never held accountable for their actions. On the contrary, in the western world where freedom is enjoyed by both genders, women are forgetting the value of who they are. The significance of motherhood, is considered an oppression. Wherein, mothers are indoctrinated, to compete with men. Entering the workforce, while leaving their young to will of a stranger. Therefore, future generations of young people are being raised without the natural affection of a mother’s love. However, if by any means working is the resource for keeping her family alive; regardless of how many hours she works, her love will never be hindered from reaching her young. But, if working is carried out to show empowerment, the empowerment is her focus, and not the joy of motherhood. As the love of a mother cannot be hindered toward her young. Rest assure woman, nothing can stop the love of God and His promise toward you. Yes, you have faced persecution throughout the ages, but through you, the great Redeemer came forth. - The division of alcohol, and the exposing discord of love.
The beauty that once unites from within, of a Holy matrimony, is nothing more but a dreadful expression. The intimacy once shared in love, is replaced with the addiction of the bottle. He sees not her beauty, but the love for his drunken thirst. Fading is the memory of him, but ever present with her, is the burden of her love that was turned down for the lust of the wine. Every heartbeat is a burden to bear, but a hope to be free as a bird. - Distinguishing miracles
Distinguishing Godly miracles from deceptive miracles and the faithful minds that believe, and those who deny the works of God. Miracle foremost is, a token of the works of God toward men. At the same time, its ethical manifestation may serve the purpose as a wonders act. However, miracles should not be merely look at as wondrous act. For its purpose is a sign and the indication of the presence of God toward men, and the determination of the outcome of how people live. There are many wondrous act day by day in this world. Nevertheless, they do not all serve as a sign. Consequently, a world that does not understand the purpose of miracles will not fully comprehend the work of God. And a world that no longer believes in miracles is a world in darkness because they do not know God. ● As miracles reveal God's wondrous work through His power over creation for a sign to reveal His presence. In this, we see the consistent, ongoing natural order of nature. ● To bless, through His grace, we receive mercy. ● To strengthen and teach. In this, we receive His miraculous wondrous acts toward us. Unexplainable, but we receive and perceive, knowing we are undeserving of His goodness. Nevertheless, greater is His love. On the contrary to the miracles of God, there are those which are presented as miracles. It bears the name miracle and its effect work wonders and powers, but its purpose is no more than a deceptive imitation of God. The miracle of God rolls away the unknown to reveal the truth and light. Likewise, the imitation of the working of God's miracle is wrought through Satan to deceive and oppose. Such example would be the opposition faced by Moses, the servant of God. He was used by God to make known God's presence through miracles. Yet, Pharaoh and his magicians stood as an opposition against God to hinder the truth through the deception of their miracles. Though it served as a miracle, but it did not glorify God. Rather, it opposed Him. Therefore, let us not accept all miracles on the premise of wondrous and power. Even Satan does work power and wonders by turning a staff into a serpent. So then, let us as believers seek the reason for the miracle and the sign to which it points, the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, let us not always look for wonders and power, but let us seek the Glory of God. Men will ridicule the idea of believing miracles because they are not willing to perceive. Wherever the knowledge of understanding is absent, the less interest is shown through the spirit of arrogance and pride, by the lack of the understanding of a subject, it is arrogantly repudiated, or cast off due to the lack of knowledge. In addition, the refusal to admit the lack of understanding is due to a proud spirit. He who believes in miracles is not a simpleton, but rather those that deny miracles are of a limited perception to perceive the wondrous that is before them. A child does not sit to absorb the beauty of the sunset and its wondrous display in the heavens because its mind is not yet developed to understand such scenery. However, an adult with a distinctive mind will show a desire and an appreciation to furthermore carefully appreciate the wonders of the sunset. So then, those that belittle a believer for believing in miracles, in essence the perception of their minds is limited. Therefore, that which they do not perceive, they disregard. A child will grow into adulthood to perceive, but regrettably the mind of the skeptics remains undeveloped to perceive. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.
