I am one of those people who actually read dictionaries. Weird to some, but enlightening for me. Yes, I have read after Noah Webster, a brilliant mind. He changed the American school system, as well as the entire world. Before he did, a school house had kids and children of ages from 9-16 or older, all in the same classroom. Through Webster, today we have the level of classes based on ages. He wrote more than a dictionary. As you mentioned, a Bible translation as well. However, the Noah Webster Bible is the same KJV - King James Version of the Bible (my preferable choice)
The difference between the Noah Webster Bible and the KJV is straightly from a linguist's standpoint.
Webster being a linguist and Godly man, moved to set up a translation of the KJV by only changing some adverbs or verbs where see fit. Below are some examples. It does not change or twist the meaning of the KJV text in any way or form.
KJV - Bible
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Noah Webster - Bible
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thy heart; and lean not to thy own understanding.
If you look at the two translations above, you cannot easily see the difference, unless you look closely. The KJV used "unto thine" while Webster used "to thy"
Philippians 4:13
KJV
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Noah Webster
I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.
KJV
Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Noah Webster
Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life, in Christ Jesus, hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
It is almost impossible to spot the difference in the passage from Romans 8:2.
If you look closely, Webster added a comma after "Spirit of life" and another comma after Jesus.
KJV - Bible
John 11:35
Jesus wept.
Noah Webster - Bible
John 11:35
Jesus wept.
The only major difference between a KJV Bible and a Noah Webster Bible is the price. The Webster Bible is out of print, so the price is usually high.
