Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The greatness of the Word of God is its integrity, by which it is without error nor deception. If contradictions arise, it is the reader’s lack of perception. So then, let it be an opportunity to gain a better insight.

The passages below are some of that which we avert, for the lack of understanding, but with a willing mind, they shall be made known.

The name Jesus

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21)

The annunciation of our Lord's name serves as a revelation of His person, meaning who He is. And His work, and the reason for His birth. Within the name Jesus, we will see who He is and His work thereof. The name Jesus means Jehovah is Savior. As He is also Emmanuel, God is with us. More so, He is the God who saves from sin.

The name Jesus Is the Greek form of the Hebrew name Joshua, which means Saviour or Salvation. Or as previously stated, Jehovah is Savior.

During the time of our text, the name Jesus was one of the many names given to a Jewish boy baby, as the parents simply reflected their hope for a savior by the name given to their sons. However, when Jesus was born, this wasn’t another case of a child reflecting the saving power of God. But this child was indeed God in the flesh. The pronoun "He" that is used in chapter 1 verse 21. Is the Greek word αὐτός. Or (autos) as it is rendered in the English language. This emphatically states, it is He who shall saves. Not a reflection of Jehovah, who saves, nor is He a type of Jehovah, but it is He who saves, and He is God.

The name Jesus is the name above all names. The power of the name Jesus is not in its pronunciation, its English uttering or the way in which it is customarily spoken in its originality of the Hebrew language, but rather, the power of the name Jesus is in the authority of the man Jesus.

...Thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save his people from their sins.

May the heart find peace, as the lips utter the name Jesus, for He saves. Like the words of

Priscilla J Owens:

Spread the tidings all around: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Bear the news to every land, climb the steeps and cross the waves;
Onward! 'tis our Lord's command; Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Tell to sinners far and wide: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Sing, ye islands of the sea; echo back, ye ocean caves;
Earth shall keep her jubilee: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

By His death and endless life, Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Sing it softly through the gloom, when the heart for mercy craves;
Sing in triumph o'er the tomb: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Let the nations now rejoice: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Shout salvation full and free; highest hills and deepest caves;
This our song of victory: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
