Nightmares

Prayer against nightmares

Exchanging fear for the assurance of peace , through prayers

My days are filled with my doing, and my heart is with both laughter and some grief. For where I am now, is not where I desire to be. As I close my eyes to slumber and recede, enlarge within me is the fear of sleep. If the day was my doing, Lord, may you take over my night, as I lay my head to sleep. Every road I travel, Lord, please walk before me. Guide my conscience and thoughts during the light of the day, so that I may reflect on You during the dark of the night.

Teach me to see beyond every fear, so I can see more of you. Though I am not perfect, but by praying this prayer, it is the evidence that I need you. Your words are true and are real, and greater than all fear.

For you said I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Whatsoever an individual speaks is what they think. Therefore, teach me Lord to speak more of you that I may see less of me and the fear of the unknown.

I will lay my head to sleep, knowing your angels watch my soul to keep.

The words of the Lord

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day; Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that waste at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. (Psalms 91:5-12)

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

(Hebrews 13:6)
