    Temptation

    I know we are cover by Grace, but are still to confess our sins. Does this apply to temptation too?

    Temptation in itself is not a sin, yielding to the temptation, however, is where the sin is enacted. We do not pray for forgiveness for being tempted, but we pray, not to be led into temptation.

    . . . Lead us not into temptation.

    Matthew 6:13

    B. W. Johnson said:

    The thought is that God may preserve us from temptations that might lead us astray. No man can pray these words who does not try to keep out of temptation.

    Reading this reminds me of 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

    We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

    (9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed
