There comes a time when the assessment of life's decision serve as a change from what we are to what we ought to be. The change from the life of wasted years.
This assessment is vividly brought out through the artist's painting, The turn from the life of wasted years. Now available in prints.

That which is wasted, was first the opportunity to do that which is good. Weren’t my eyes beholding the good? Nevertheless, from where I once was with the awareness of the good, to where I found myself in the life of wasted years, the dreams and visions are naught, but are as the crumbling of the life of wasted years.

Then His words were unto me; with those eyes you have seen and were led astray. Now with your heart, you will discern that you may turn away from the life of wasted years.

Those dreams I once held, had slipped right through my hands, for these things I have wandered. Now they’re as a grain of sand? Therein, the mind pauses to ponder into isolation, but the calling of the Lord is as a gentle wind which nudges the shoulders, and it whispers, hope to turn around from the life of wasted years, trying to build on the dust of nothingness. These I’ll see no more, but for Your faithfulness, Your angel had been always with me. Now, in faith, Your mercy will be a reminder and a comfort to turn around from the life of wasted years.

The path first taken may serve as an example for those who follow therein. Many will walk therein, but few will discern to the call of the Lord, to turn around.
