Faith

"God respects faith."

What is faith? I know the Bible talks a lot about faith and there are many verses about faith like " faith comes from hearing and hearing the word of God" and many more. Is there a non-clicheic explanation of what faith is? I guess faith can be for both a believer and a non-believer, non-believers have faith in what they believe in is correct? Are hope and faith essentially the same thing, because technically you hope in something or have faith in something to turn out a certain way?

Faith cannot be understood through a definition. Faith must be lived through the individual's experience.

The world, or a non-believer has faith. However, their faith is, it might happen, or it might not happen. The Christian’s faith and hope are both an assurance, without uncertainty. However, faith is only as good as what it is connected to.

True faith is in Jesus Christ. Not just a statement, but a way of life. The life we live now and the things to come tomorrow, are based on our faith and the object of our faith. Life is like a sea, humanity is the vessel thereon. With each vessel having an anchor, which is a type of faith, but having an anchor do not guarantee security, without the anchor being placed in the right place during a storm. (That is to say, faith must be in the Lord)

If an individual anchor is in his or her boat. Their faith is in themselves. How can a boat be stable in a storm if the anchor is in the boat? It cannot. Trusting in self will fail.

If your anchor is in a beautiful man-made “sand” castle on the beach. That individual will soon find out that beauty does not mean reliability.

If an individual anchor is in another boat, their anchor will fail. Even if the other individual anchor holds.

But Faith in Christ is an assurance, based on a relationship. Trusting, by accepting His will, while letting go of your will. Though the mind may not understand, but through the desire of the heart, with time it shall be done.

This is faith, the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (but we believe)
